The pre 12wbt

So, I've been attempting this gym thing for a month now. I should be happier... And ultimately I am... But I've lost 2kgs and feel it should be more. Which is completely ridiculous, I'm just getting over glandular fever after a very long 7 weeks, and my stomach muscles are still week after being torn through childbirth.

It's quite ridiculous the expectations we give ourselves, and yet are so quick to tell others off for doing just that. On the other hand, I've noticed certain people who you can never be good enough for. I work with a person who is just like that, nothing I shall ever do will be correct by them, but bring that wrath down shall I dare point out any faults they may have.

My, very badly written, point?? Fuck them. I have a bad enough point criticising myself, I don't need some bogan who thinks they are all that bringing me down.. Or anybody else!! If you fail at your goal, change it and adapt it. You'll work out what's best for you.

Do I really, honestly think I'll ever be my sexy 20 year old body again? NO! Does it actually bother me? No, not really.. So, why don't I just lower my aim? At least for a while...

With love,
Chantal

12WBT - Week Twelve

Well today marks the final day of 12WBT - I can't believe it's been twelve weeks, it has absolutely flown by! My weigh in today was a horrible 83.4Kg (I have miraculously managed to put on two kilos since last week... WTF?)

So whilst I am upset over my weight... I was hoping to be ready to kick 80's butt and enter the 70s range... I am overall happy with the change in my physique. I have lost 39cm on my body overall:

AREA                START                   FINISH
Chest                    102cm                     93.5cm
Waist                      81cm                     75cm
Hips                      107cm                    102cm
Left Thigh                71cm                      64cm
Right Thigh               70cm                     64cm
Left Arm                   33cm                     30cm
Right Arm                 33cm                     29.5cm

Right Profile Before and After 12WBT

I am still rather fleshy in some areas, so I'm going to concentrate on thighs and stomach some more and hope this leads to greater success with my weight. Also, there is only just over two weeks left until Stuart and I do The Stampede - so hopefully getting myself ready for this plus the course will shed a few kilos!!

Lots of Love,
Chantal

12WBT - Week Eight

Okay.. I will be the first to admit it - I'm not really following this program anymore. It's not that it wasn't working, I think it's more the fact that I hate and despise the idea of "dieting". However, we are still following some of the suggested meal plans, and still excercising (Stuart alot more than me, whoops!)

I'm still moving in the right direction weight and size wise, I weigh 82.3kgs at the moment which pleases me to no end. Also, I may not have lost too much in my measurements, but holy cow check out my waist difference!!!

Area             Pre-WBT        Week 4           Week 8
Chest               102cm            93cm              93cm
Waist                 81cm            80cm              76cm
Hips                  107cm          103cm            102cm
Right Thigh       70cm             69cm              69.5cm
Left Thigh           71cm           68cm              69cm
Right Arm          33cm            32cm               31.5cm
Left Arm             33cm           32cm              31.5cm

I'm definitely feeling healthier and happier about myself. Now, there's just four more weeks left of the program to use it to its full ability I guess.

Here are some snap shots that Stu took of me before we headed out to see Cirque Du Soleil's Ovo - which, by the way, was fan-bloody-tastic!!

12WBT - Week Four

This week was our monthly check in to see how not only our weight is progressing, but also our measurements and fitness levels. As it was our second wedding anniversary on Tuesday, I was by no means expecting any positive results in any department on Wednesday. As such, it still hurt to see that I had put on 800grams.

However... I was astonished and impressed by my new measurements!!

Area                   Pre-WBT             Now (Wk4)
Chest                    102cm                   93cm
Waist                      81cm                   80cm
Hips                      107cm                  103cm
Right Thigh            70cm                    69cm
Left Thigh               71cm                    68cm
Right Arm               33cm                    32cm
Left Arm                 33cm                    32cm

After hearing my measurements, I felt like I looked like this!
I also managed to double the amount of push ups I did in 1 minute to 28 from the knees (I know this isn't great, but I am super impressed with myself!). My wall sit doubled too, from 33secs to just over a minute. However, I did notice that I lost a little bit of my flexibility, so I think it's back to what I like to call "London Bridge Push Ups"

"London Bridge" I do push ups from this position to increase my flexibility
I am fitting back into some of my old "skinny" clothes already, which I am absolutely thrilled to pieces about. Obviously, there is still room for improvement BUT now that I have seen my weight not change too much, but my measurements have.. I'm going to stop getting so stressed about those numbers and concentrate on trying to look more like these two fantastically fit women!!

Lots of Love,
Chantal

12WBT - Week Three

Ahh another weigh in has come and passed, and another unhappy result. This week I lost 200g, bringing me to a weight of 83.4kgs. Overall, I am still happy though as this means I have lost 1/3 of my goal weight loss since I started the pre-tasks about 7ish weeks ago.

I was, as always, hoping for more weight loss.... as this week I went on a mini hike with a girlfriend in D'Aguilar Forest, after a beautiful drive over Mt Mee.

The beautiful view from a viewing stop on Mt Mee, it was extremely windy, so I couldn't even show off my new dye job / hair cut!

At the beginning, we were very eager and were enjoying all beauty of the greens and browns around us.

About one hour into the hike, we found these small bones laying across the path. I took this as the sign we had been looking for to turn back around, and head back to the car.

I had some fun being a twit on an intercepting road, while beautiful Bronnie laughed at my stupidity and took the snaps (by also placing herself on the road. HA!)

I took LOTS of photos of the flora we passed on the way too, there was so little of it that it made each one even more beautiful. I felt pretty lucky to also find a bee on one of the plants. (yes, it's the little things in life that one enjoys).

We then took a couple breaks, like here playing with a vine - we are sooo strong!! As if... and then made it home!!

We ended up hiking for just over 2 hours, so my guess is we walked about 7kms. It was great fun, but I certainly paid for it with leg pain over the following couple of days!!

Until next time,
Lots of Love,
Chantal
