Weekend Road Trip: Adelaide (Part I)

About a week ago now, I took myself on a little adventure to Adelaide. I happened to get myself an extra day off work, so I was able to enjoy a beautiful long weekend in this small city.

On the Saturday, I got the earliest flight I could and arrived at 9am in Adelaide - only to find that many places were not open yet! So I walked around the city in slight drizzle for an hour until the Museum opened.

After the museum, I went for a slow stroll through some beautiful trees in all their beautiful Autumn yellow glory to the Adelaide Zoo. And boy, was it worth it! Although there was a fair few exhibits that no longer had animals in their enclosures, and any zoo after Africa was probably a silly idea... but the pandas certainly made it worth my while. They decided to have a little flirting session!!

When I got back to my hotel room, the Mantra on Hindmarsh Square, I was tired but wanted to quickly do something I'd been dreaming of FOREVER! What was it!? I hear you ask.. well just a little old jumping on the bed :D  Please excuse my gut in these photos, I am still trying to loose the weight.. it is a slow progress, but at least I am making some movement!! It was lots of fun, and I felt like such a child!!

On the Sunday, I had a lovely big sleep in and then got bored so took some what I wore shots. Then at lunch I caught up with an old friend who I hadn't seen in TWELVE YEARS!! We went to primary school together. I thought it had the potential to go really awkward, given the years, but we got along splendidly. She drove us to Hahndorf, the oldest German village in Australia - where we wandered the town and ate a local pub. I shocked hubby by drinking beer and eating Bratwurst sausages!!

I wore a CKM tee; yellow Giordano long sleeve top; grey Rubi beanie, peacock feather earrings I purchased off etsy; black and grey stripe pants from Target, and I also had a red leather jacket I bought in Sydney.

PART II will be posted tomorrow.

Tasty Tuesday: Link Love

This week I have been loving the following:

  • Photographs of celebs with cameras is pretty awesome. Definately some inspiration to take my camera everywhere!
  • PetaPixel posted photo's of Sharon Johnstone's amazing macro photos of dewdrops on dandelions. They look so pretty and delicate.
  • Stuart is obsessed with Lions.. so when I stumbled across this vintage set of photos, I just had to share!
  • I also just joined Michelle Bridges 12Week Body Transformation to help lose some more weight. I lost around 10kgs between November last year and February this year. I then tried Lite n Easy with some light exercise, but unfortunately this did not work for me.. however, it did help me control my portion size. So hoping that this will get me closer to my 70kg goal (17kg to go!)

And lastly I leave you with this video..

Well I am off to Adelaide for a long weekend, no idea what I'm going to get up to. I've been waiting for a suitable time to go since June last year when the Adelaide part of our anniversary holiday was cancelled thanks to the ash cloud from Chile. So expect photos!!

Lots of Love,
Chantal

What I Wore: Buderim Forest

I haven't ever really tried to take "clothing" photos before... so here is my first go.

What I wore:
  • Yellow singlet from Cotton On
  • Blue cotton shorts from Just Jeans
  • Pink overlay top from Just Jeans
  • Yellow shoes that I bought many many moons ago from a shop that no longer exists at Toombul Shopping Centre.

Later during the day I swapped my heels from my nike ladies 5.0's and visited Buderim Forest Park to practice some flowing water shots (my first attempt)...

Lots of Love,
Chantal
